CURRENTLY READING: The Great Wide Sea by M. H. Herlong
VLA SITE CONSTRUCTION : 99% Complete
What does this mean? I can stop being a web designer and be a writer again. To be honest, I was getting a little frustrated with writing when I began the heavy work on the site last week. The break did me good. Every time I want to throw my notebooks in a heap and run the garden hose over it, I know it's time to take a breath.
That is another reason why I work on more than one novel at a time. Easier to write a more refreshing point of view.
Speaking of POV, does anyone else find themselves doing multi-POVs without noticing? Deceptive's been getting a little confusing with the constant switching, and it's making me wonder what my story is really about--what would the meaning be if it was ONLY in one person's eyes?
Windsor Airlift - Love (w/o weird beeping=beautiful); No One Tells Me Anything
I love this version of Sailboats. :)
ReplyDeleteNice to know someone else listens to Seagull Orchestra, Windsor Airlift, etc. Sometimes I just browse through all their songs on YouTube. I love all the old, unreleased Port Blue stuff too. Have you heard Aerial Promenade by Seagull Orchestra? One of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3sprWcoAOk
As to points of view...Actually, I was wondering about the same thing--how would this story look from ONE point of view--the other day about one of my WIPs. My first novel is written switching off between two POVs. This one, though, I'm tempted to write from either just one POV or from more than two. Not certain yet.

PS: I tend to be a lengthy commentor. Hope you don't mind. :)
Isn't it lovely? Aerial Promenade is actually my favorite song from him.
DeletePOV is a continual fight for me. xD Most of my stories have been tested in 1st and 3rd POVs just because I want to get the tone right. I like reading a couple of different narrators, but some times the books with just one simple perspective can be more enjoyable. It all depends on the story, but some times authors don't get it right.
I read that you got a hard copy of your book! Congrats.

P.S. I love: long things; rambles; and epic guitar riffs. So long comments are not a prob. xDDDD
I do the vast majority of my writing in third person, just because. Every once in a while, I'll go back to first person though. :) And like you said, it all depends on the story--the characters, the needs of the plot, etc.
DeleteThank you! I am super excited. :D

PS: Glad to know it. ;)
